1. Do these 3 ranches keep their bulls once their cows are bred or do they sell their bulls?
2. Has anyone ever been on any of the 3 ranches?
3. If the Galt ranch has 3000 cows does anyone have any idea how many replacement heifers they would keep each year to replace those cows?
4. I can't imagine keeping track of that many cows. How would you ever know when a cow is missing or even a calf during calving season.
Any thougts from folks in this region of the United States???

1. Yes they keep their bulls as long as thery are sound but not usually more than 6 years.

2. Never been on any of those three but dozens and dozens like them.

3. Heifer replacement is usually around 15% of the cowherd size depending on terrain.

4. After years and years with these cows the problem ones have nearly all been shipped or died.
