Help Support CattleToday:

All the breeds were mentioned but the combination was never made.

Here she is with her dam in the background a Charolais.

And this bad boy is the sire. He is a balancer bull Gelbvieh x Red Angus.

That is the only calf from him this year but I have him in with my commercial herd and I can't wait to see what the herf crosses look like as well as the simmi's they could be very colorful.

So what was with the "location" clues?? The RA influence?

I read the post and looked at the pictures around noon and while slinging poop it hit me hd must have some "Canadian" breedstock!

Glad I didn't have time to post then and get demerit points for a wrong answer!

Did you you know there is a cattle breed called Canadian?

( No it isn't a joke. They aren't apathetic, liberal socialist cows who expect eutopia without working for it ).

The location reference was that in Alberta you cannot throw a rock without hitting a Red Angus or Black Angus bull. BTW he wasn't supposed to be a balancer animal when I bought his bred dam 4 years ago. But looks like a nice calf out of kind of a hound dog cow. I don't think there is Guernsey in her as we have had a few in our dairy animals and they don't look like that. And the Holstein x Gelbvieh, I have a calf from those genetics and she is solid black .
Who knows what the Char has in her background  .Her calf last year was solid white with a Red Gelbvieh sire :? .

Now that is funny.

I think that white strip on the back comes from your charolais cow......... I have 2 that threw that stripe on their calves last year (and each cow calved from a different bull) and I think it was mentioned last year in a thread that some charolais throw that.

Nice heifer calf.
