I HAVE TWO HEIFERS THAT ARE 21 MONTHS OLD, IN THE FIELD WITH THEM IS A STEER. HOWEVER BOTH THESE HEIFERS HAVE SHOWN NO SIGNS OF COMING INTO BREEDING CONDITION. THEY HAVE PLENTY TO EAT AND ARE GETTING EXTREMELY ROUND AROUND THE MIDDLE, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE EXCESS FATTY DEPOSITS AROUND THE TAIL HEAD. ONE OF THE HEIFERS TEATS ARE STARTING TO ENLARGE AND BOTH SHOW SIGNS OF SOME UDDER DEVELOPMENT. I HAVE BEEN WONDERING IF MY STEER MAY BE A BIT MORE MANLY THEN I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE. DOES IT SOUND LIKE I MAY HAVE A COUPLE READY TO DROP AT SOME UNKNOWN TIME.

Sounds like your "steer" is going to have the last laugh after all.......... All indications sound like you have two very promising mothers-to-be on your hands. I don't know how else to explain the developments you are describing.

If the steer was banded rather then cut it's possible both testicles were'nt in the sack when the band tightened, in which case he may still have a little spice left. Usually when this happens the body heat kills the sperm. But there is always a chance. Have a vet or AI tech prewg check them
