Have a pair of 16 to 24 month old heifers that run 10 acres of south misery native grass.
I feed them each a 3 LB can of MFA allgrain, and 1 1/2lb of 14% range cubes once a day.
They have fresh well water and now that the grass is slim year old native grass hay.
One of the girls has gotten picky about eating. She hits the hay ring, but only goes for the range cubes at the trough.
Has started to "mosey" rather than firm walk to the feed trough.
No sign of scours, but she did get on the neighbors place about 6 months ago. Looked like she was always with the cow/calf pairs, and the neighbor said their bull was not able to get into the field she and their cow/calf pairs were in.
She has bagged out a little (hereford), more than her field mate.
She looks clear eyed, and no snotty nose or labored breathing.
Any hints before I call the vet (that should be fun as I dont' have a squeeze chute and only a smaller fenced in pen to put her up in)
