Health insurance

Help Support CattleToday:

See what these folks have to offer.

The best way to insure your health is to work at taking care of yourself.
Not necessarily. I'm not overweight, not on any medications, active, blood levels are excellent. But, according to Marketplace, I have to pay an outrageous amount each month with a $$$$$$ deductible. When the person in front of me at Walmart in their jammies and clearly over a deuce gets a free pass. Bitter, much?

I'm fortunate, my wife has excellent insurance through her work. Before we married, I went through a health insurance/marketplace specialist I got from the Dave Ramsey endorsed provider list. Health insurance is all they do. I might still have they're contract information, don't know how it works being in different states though.

Marketplace open enrollment closed December 15, so unless you've had a "life event", you get a whole year to research it…😕

I just got UHC for me and the wife. 1100 per month, probably worth around 1/2 that much

@Mountaintown Creek Ranch PM me your age, zip code, (you still in Gilmer county?) and county. Also send in what income you had on the Earned Income line of your 2022 1040, I think it is line 37, and I will look for you to see what's the best available.

Edit: On 2nd thought,. let me just PM you my office email address, and you can email back the answers. Not so sure the PM's on here are all that secure.

Self employed farmer/rancher health insurance, not on Medicaid.

Where y'all have it ?
Thx
I've heard people talk about using medishare, no experience myself. I don't know how it is in Georgia, but in Arkansas if you drive a school bus you get health insurance at the full time employee rate. Used to be a lot of self employed farmers that drove a bus for that reason. I will be eligible to draw my retirement from the school when I'm 51 (28 years employed at the district) and I have other things going that can make me income so to keep insurance I will probably drive a bus after I retire.

In our county there is a severe shortage of bus drivers.

I think it is a nationwide problem. At our district everyone that drives has another job at the district with the exception of one person who is a retired truck driver making extra income. I drive everyday, I'm the maintenance and facilities director, my grounds keeper drives everyday, the transportation director or his assistant (mechanic) drives everyday as well as our superintendent. There's only one teacher that drives a route, one coach and a couple of teacher's assistants. Used to be most of our drivers were self employed people wanting the insurance, not as many full time farmers in the area anymore.

Yes my buddy works at the county as a mechanic last week they were 11 bus drivers shorts so they took all the mechanics and other personnel and put them in buses.
