Gestation and Calf Size

These 2 were born Mar 19, just a couple hours apart. The one on the fence was due on Mar 7, so was 11 days late. The smaller one was due Apr 1, so 14 days early.

The big one weighed 104 lbs, The smaller 66 lbs. Same Sire, both out of Red Angus x Shorthorn heifers.

I've never had any monsters born early, but I have had ordinary sized calves born way late... This year they're pretty much on time it seems so far... though I'd have liked to know when Chroma was bred.. she had a BIG heifer calf
