My heavy hauler is a f-800 flatbed dump. You can pack a lot on a 16x8 bed. It is just too tall to mount a goseneck hitch on it. How hard is it to put a lift kit on a stock trailer?

Those are definitely the way to go as long as you use them enough to pay for the insurance/inspections on them.. Around here you need basically a class 3 license to haul any trailer over 10,000 lbs, so you might as well have the heavy duty truck...

For me, 4wd is a dealbreaker on a truck, and they're very rare in that size.. MUCH more money too.. it would never get out of the driveway all winter as we have bad ice.. and lets face it, who likes chaining up?.. that said, I have chains for all 6 tires on my dually, plus a set of cable chains for the trailer, should I ever HAVE to use them.. y'know, the worst day of the year, a cow goes down and has to go to the vet?
