Heard something about a derrechio wind flattening corn in Illinois while at work. Anyone hear anything????

It came a big one north of us yesterday. Large hail and high winds. Same tonight.

Corn futures are down a lot this week but soybeans were .74 higher today.

We are in central IL close to Effingham and while we had 70 to 80mph winds with the gust front it only flattened the first row or two on the north side of some fields. The fields northern exposure determined the amount of damage.
Saw there had been one earlier in the week that went 500+ miles. Think that's what gave us the rain night before last.

Here I Fulton County south of Peoria have not seem any corn flattened only leaning on north facing fields
Saw some pics on Facebook of flattened corn, will see if I can find them again.

We got 1-1.5 inches of rain and no damages last night according to my family. Had .5 to 1 the day before so score one for the little guy, we were getting pretty dry.

McDonough County got hammered. 120 mph winds. Pictures Grain bins and machine sheds gone .
Galesburg got 2.5" in 20 minutes Thursday.
