Had a first for me with a 6 year old cow last night. She had a backwards calf( feet showing) so got her in the chute and pulled it without any difficulty, got the calf into a dry bedded pen and let the cow in and she proceeded to attack it with head, front feet flashing ,full on flared nostrils and breathing fire! With my adrenaline pumping I jumped in and went to kicking her on the nose as well as yelling a few choice names and then as quick as it started she stopped and started licking it. I left and when I went back to check it was all licked off, nothing broken and had had a feed. 24 hours later its all happy families as if it never happened.I've dealt with some heifers " over mothering" but nothing like this. Maybe its the political climate stirring things up
