None of us are perfect. But, before you get so mad at a complete stranger that you'll stab him with scissors think to yourself where are we going with this?

FAKE news.
No shots fired... so not a gun fight and no stabbing occurred.
1st guy pulled a scissors and 2nd guy pulled out a gun sending 1st guy running from the store.

Police are searching for the suspect that fled and seeking to charge him with misdemeanor of
creating a public disturbance and running with scissors. :)

p.s.
Very poorly written, reported as happening on both Tuesday Aug. 7th and Tuesday August 6.

I saw that, it was reported happening on the 6th and 7th in the same sentence! Looks like they've updated and fixed that error.

The story has been updated. The scissor wielding assailant claims those scissors just fell out of his pocket. Happens all the time.

Folks, originally I was trying to make a point about existing with each other in a respectful manner.

But this story has turned into something that concerns and affects everyone:

Who do you trust?
The media?
The eyewitness accounts of multiple gunshots?
The hospital that says it treated someone for gun shots?
The sheriff that says nothing happened after he confiscated the video?

We live in an age of misinformation. Too often, media outlets, in their effort and desire to be the first to break a story, run with and disseminate incorrect information. Now we have have community leaders and officials who are caving to the pressure of media outlets and are trying to "get ahead" of a situation even before they themselves have gathered the actual facts. They form a quick hypothesis, based on statements and circumstantial evidence, without verifying the veracity of those statements. They then provide that inaccurate info to the media dogs. After the media dogs twist the info to meet whatever agenda they have, who knows what truly happened anymore. It's sad and embarrassing. A vicious cycle that perpetuates itself. This unfortunate event truly catalogs the disgusting nature of our news cycle and it's impact on leaders and investigators. Integrity in media is virtually non existent.

Also, anyone in law enforcement or who has worked in a courtroom will confirm: eyewitness testimony is the least reliable evidence. The emotions and chemicals triggered during a stressful event make it extremely difficult to remain logical, objective and remember events accurately.
