How do you tell the approx. age of a corriente hefier or cow?
According to the judges book a yearling heifer would have about a 4 inch horn with about a 6 inch base but what about when they get to be older than that does the horn length still come into play or are there other factors and do the same factors come into play with bulls & steers?
Any help would be great. Thanks

Thats great if you can open there mouth , but if your standing in a corral of fifty you can't put them all in a squeeze chute to check there teeth. There must be some sort of a rule of thumb to go by.

The rule of thumb is you look at their teeth. Horn size, stature, condition are all far more variable then teeth.

Sure you can. You should only have to do it once. Im not trying to be flip, but as Dun said its really the only reliable way to gage age.
