In response to being locked out of type1 thread I guess I'll give my experience with type 2.
Taking 3 different meds and being prescribed insulin I changed my diet. Eliminating all sugar, almost all carbs. No fruit, honey no potatoes, no rice, no pasta.
Fatty meat and eggs only. After less than a year I was off all meds . Most type 2 diabetes can achieve it but it takes going all the way. A type 2 diabetic produces insulin. Most type2 diabetics are just eating to much sugar. This is my real experience. Most people would rather eat sugar and take the pills. Suger is no different than cigarettes as far as poisoning your body.
