I wonder about that................where would you go if you could buy land "cheap" and show em how to grow grass and raise cows?

You can grow great grass in the desert, all it takes is water (and fertilizer).

i applied fertilizer yesterday looking at today as the best chance of rain (i canceled out last week) i asked my grandson for a raindance yesterday and he told me he didn't know one. i guess he wasn't far off as we just had a cloud burst with bad storm warnings all around us and it only registered less than a half inch. we're really happy for that much believe it or not. we're still hoping for more but not optimistic, keep going where is right 82.....

You would need more than water and fertilizer I think.

We bought a property alas with sand. One night of a horse pacing and the grass was gone.

You would need top soil or something as well at a guess.

Also look up no dig gardening or lasagne gardening. You can make those gardens on the top of a bitumen car park if you like, but again you still need water.

Arizona has some beautiful alfalfa fields and citrus orchards....all irrigated of course.
