Calving jack. No way of pulling him out just with rope. I do believe that he will be the heaviest calf for this season yet. What are you using to pull the calf??
Good job saving him.
These ropes come together with the jack hereOh. I see. I blew up pic and you are using a rope with loops for the jack.
We use chains. A thick rope would probably be easier on them.
This one made me giggle!!#2 full blood Aberdeen bull calf coming in at 62lbs

I can't imagine having a 140lb+/- calf like shown a few posts above this? How the heck do you get it weighed? What size cow has that size calf? This one made me giggle!!
So tiny compared to most of yours.
Needa big bathroom scale. Pick the calf up and take the weight!I can't imagine having a 140lb+/- calf like shown a few posts above this? How the heck do you get it weighed? What size cow has that size calf?
I'm not picking up that guy !Needa big bathroom scale. Pick the calf up and take the weight!
Use a front end loader to pick it up !I can't imagine having a 140lb+/- calf like shown a few posts above this? How the heck do you get it weighed? What size cow has that size calf?
That's a LARGE farm animal!!
we did get the calf in our shop/barn area & dried him off pretty good before the sun set.Had another cow calve today. This bull calf is 94 lbs. I didn't get the calf earlier weighted but I think he weighs a little less. So far, both cows are not moving the calves to the pole barn out of the North wind. It really concerns me, we don't have an indoor barn to put them in.
Hoping for a heifer or a bull ?Guess who is in the maternity pen tonight...
