Bought all my hay this year

Exactly. They don't consider wear on equipment, maintenance, repairs, capital cost, etc. Your post captures the essence of the hay business. It is not operated as a business, it is operated as a hobby.

Exactly , ran into this a week or 2 ago , when I ruined a tire on a rented sprayer , wanted 20 bucks for mounting , I did it in 5 minutes. I swear , and swore, but I will never give 20 dollars to mount a 15 inch tire.
