Baling standing hay

My neighbor who runs a lot of cows is baling his dormant coastal bermuda. Anyone ever heard of this being done?

Yes I have , the hay has no food value , it is just a filler, need to supplement protein. Some unknowing person will pay top dollar for the hay.

The guy sells hay. It probably will end up on someone's trailer. I thought he was a decent guy. Who knows.

Been done that way along time. Used to be a guy that would wait till frost killed everything and would cut and bale it for folks. They would give it to him. He was selling it to the road and bridge dept and the state for erosion control on highway projects. He like 7 bucks a square bale.

Just don't buy any hay from him ever. If he asks why you can tell him or ask him to let you have it tested.
