Baling brown top millet

I planted several acres of brown top millet on fathers day to bale. I just have a few questions.
When is the best time to bale?(after it heads out?)
How long does it normally take to dry before baling?(planted 30lb per acre, about 2.5-3 ft tall now.
Any other tips/do's/don'ts on baling brown top.

you will be covered up with dove it you let it go to seed before cutting it.

when bailed, you want to get it tested to insure it is safe to feed. toxic millet hay will drop a cow in a heart beat. nitrates may be high.

When is the best time to test millet hay...at the time it is baled or a while later?

nitrates will be high if the millet has been stressed, and or if alot of chicken litter has been applied. i would think you could test the millet at anytime. this is just what i have done in the past and it works for me. it may not work for you though. IMO

Don't let it rain for about four days and keep the fluffer going until its dry.
