Bagging up - first calf heifer

I have a first calf heifer due in 2 weeks. She's just now ever so slightly starting to bag. My previous first calf heifers began bagging over a month before calving. Is there a lot of variation on bagging up for first calf heifers?

Yes. Some for 6 weeks, some the day before and everything in between.

What GoWyu said plus she may not milk as well as the other heifer. Some don't get their milk till after she calves .

If she's bagging now, she will make milk. She just a little late to the game.
Just need to be there to see if she kicks it off. Some Heifers just have no maternal instinct at first. I give them about maybe 10 minutes of the calf trying and if she won't let them nurse, I put her in a chute and force it..... And don't forget to tie Mama's leg !!!
Our last heifer had 3 forced feedings and now she is a great momma.
