Interesting fact about shotguns, Germany in WW1 tried to get them banned from use in war because they were so effective against them.

The Army Colt .38 didn't stop their suicidal attacks and even the Springfield rifle didn't always do the job. In such close quarter fighting, the Model 97 Riot Gun, a pump-action shotgun, usually gave the Juramentados their desired martyrdom.]


The enemy didn't like the trench broom one bit. In September 1918, the German government issued a diplomatic protest, complaining that the Model 97 Trench Gun was illegal because "it is especially forbidden to employ arms, projections, or materials calculated to cause unnecessary suffering" as defined in the 1907 Hague Convention respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land. When the Americans rejected this, the German high command then threatened to execute any soldier caught with a Trench Gun or even just Trench Gun shells.

There is so much more too this but living in country that doesn't have guns the way America does we just don't have these mass murder problems. I know...there is so much more too this but that's just my 2 cents. We don't see people grabbing shot guns and killing multiple people. There will always be isolated incidents but in many ways strong gun laws do help us. But then look what happened in Nice, France yesterday. No guns there....just one truck. :cry:
Yes, and what about the shootings in France a few months back? Strict gun laws didn't help there either. In American Hunter magazine, every month they list numerous cases of armed citizens who successfully defend themselves legally with firearms. We can't stop all the bad guys from doing horrible things, but at least we deserve the right to defend ourselves when such things occur.

I cant really separate the two but those were terrorist attacks. The shootings in Dallas were Americans on Americans. Both France and the USA have greater risks on terrorist attacks than where I live there is no doubting that, we haven't seen the pain you have seen in Canada. Things can't be instantly turned around I get that but if it were my vote I would want the guns gone. To me it's sad that anyone would even publish a list like that in any magazine.

No, it wasn't americans on americans. Dallas was the nation of islam against american police. Nation of islam is anti-american. Just like the terrorist attacks that were called work place violence. Lets be honest and call a spade a spade.

Is it possible to buy Cocaine in Canada? Is it not outlawed? Wonder if criminals can obtain it? Wonder how that happens being outlawed and all?

It will be a really sas day for you or your children when those commited to evil are armed and you can't defend yourselves. With the amount of refugees you've been taking in that aren't interested in assimilation, it shouldn't be too long. It will be sad, but not unforseeable.

You are very correct. You deserve to be treated with respect because of your humanity. Just as all others deserve the right of self defense against all enemies foreign and domestic.

I find it illogical to defend the stripping of someones right to self preservation and means of defense against physical violence, but then become so defended against words. That isnt consistent.

People should be treated with respect. So much respect, that we respect their rights to life and defense of that life.

I got my first shotgun in Canada on my 7th birthday. I wonder if a nonresident can still buy a gun in Canada? I hate to inform you CJC but Canada is going to be hit hard in the near future.

Dear Mr. Butch,

I am writing to inform you that Southern hospitality still exists. But you are correct, it's being affected by all the nothern and coastal (non-southern) migration. I can only assume they are leaving their homes because the great education and exceptional manners are more than they can stand.

I appreciate the example of manners you've set before us. Attempting to discredit a person because of their location and trying to label them as dumb, instead of limiting discussion to the topic and ideas.

Seems like some people do that when they believe in something they can't use reason to support. But I'm sure that you are just doing it to show us how manners work. I wanted to write to you to show my appreciation of your time and effort.

Mood or no mood Canada is in for a shocking experience. Hopefully it won't on the same scale as the WTC. But you have nothing to worry about, the police will keep you safe and sound. They do a great job here in the US of A.

I'm definitely not educated past high school. But I 've built a successful small business and make a very good living doing what most consider to do poor work. Done mostly with a hard head and a strong back. Still I May not be educated but I wouldn't have survived if I was stupid. Education or your ability to Google doesn't make you smart butch.
Me or my wife have never collected one dime of welfare, food stamps etc.
As far as hospitality it is strong and well here.
So is honesty. Most all of the work I do is done on a handshake with my money used up front.
The only time there's ever a problem is when it involves a person not from Texas. That's were the hospitality went. All the Yankees flooding in every day. They can't talk , walk,work ,or drive. Dam sure can't handle cattle. And yes Canada is in for a wake-up. (Mark that in red) I don't know how.

We're also known for some of the best universities in the country, highly ranked medical facilities and a great economy. Well ahead of that lute fish eating bunch of shyt heads in your state. Your'e not a commie... just a dumb a$$.
 
Well haven't opened this post in many days, I'm pretty sure I'm glad for that. butch your mistake was grouping all Texans together, it's not all Texans and not just Texans who could care less about who they insult and their attack others for having different beliefs. cjc, I'm not going to read through pages to know exactly what was said or how it got started, I have enjoyed your post and unfourtainly CT has a small population who could give a rat azz about others beliefs and there method of having a conversation on the subject is a mass attack and as someone said a lynch mob mentality. They have ran off more than one person (the last a young lady from France) for not supporting their ultra conservative notions and their non stop conversations of their projections of doom and gloom for our country. My only advice I can give you is learn who these folks are and choose carefully if you want to enter the conversation. Finally, some of the guys in this thread are very nice guys who happen to be from Texas and I think you, as I do, could consider an Internet friend. Most of my best friend on this board are from the south. in fact I have a sister who has lived in Texas for over 30 years.... But she's a azz :lol: not because she's from Texas because as siblings we don't get along all the time. For some reason this group of guys seem like to focus on non Americans wether they know their views on life or not. Hang in there, everyone here in time will show their true colors, let's see who will be the first to say their colors are red, white and blue. They need to realize there are different shades of colors, but it's still red, white and blue. Butch just to add, I agree with your assessment, but it's only some folks that have lost southern hospitality but evidently it's us guys from the north fault for that.....
