No, I don't think anyone blames you. You're being realistic. Many choose to not assimilate. There is a difference in their values, in other words, they follow a different set of rules.

Which ties into why many of us feel gun ownership is important. Some people, criminals, choose not to assimilate, they don't follow our societal's agreed upon rules. It leaves those that do vulnerable.

I assume all of us here want peace. I want peace for my children. You want peace. And our countries have been at peace i believe since the inception of Canada. We agree that peace is important.

But as stated before, not all criminals and not all foreign refugees value or desire peace.

So how do you answer this problem?

Criminals and terrorists select soft targets. Targets they believe are weak and underprotected.

Ever heard the phrase, peace through strength? That is what we are refering to with gun ownership. Not a desire for violence, but actually peace by decreasing the likelyhood of being a soft target.

You are being realistic when you recognize that the world is imperfect, utopia does not exist. We are also being realistic, and then acting in coordination with this assesment.

Since you realize utopia does not exist by recognizing that some people don't want to play by the rules, I think you're further along in living in the harsh realities of the real world than many. And my prediction is that as you grow older, your positions will continue to transition a little as most of us have.

When something really scary happens, you might even desire to purchase a gun. I hope that you have the opportunity to do so, if that time came. I hope the same for all my Canadian friends.

I only made the suggestion that maybe guns need to be harder to get. I watch cnn even your own county suggests that after these incidents. I shutter at the sight of a gun, it's just the way I was raised but I never said it made what you all believe wrong. The lady has a point. If blind justice, and just rule of law aren't being carried out, the name and geography won't make it the place it was. Continuing down an ill path isn't going to end well.

If Canada had chose better the last time around, and we get stuck with the worst of two bad options, well... Canada sure might of been a better option.

The people exchanging nasty's should realize that they live in very different worlds and have had very different experiences. I have spent time to both of these worlds and they are very far apart.
On one side I remember very well going to BC during Watergate and having young ladies tell me how they knew more about what was going on in my country than I did. It was very insulting. I have been to parts of the south where everyone was packing and there were reasons why they did. That was completely different than where I grew up and would be even more so if you cross the border to the north. In my opinion a young lady from BC and old guys from the south will most likely never understand one another so they should just let it be and go back to discussing cattle.

It's not even close to as bad haha. Looking at the current election from another countries perspective it makes "y'all" as you like to say look a bit silly. The scary part is that Donald Trump may actually be the best choice here. I never came here to pick any fights but a lot of your views have left a pretty nasty taste in my mouth. It's no wonder things are the way they are right now down there. Say what you want about our leader but I don't think I have ever been so proud to be a Canadian. You all hate on our values so much yet look at the disaster that's going on right now. It's this high and mighty attitude that goes into the entire thing. You all just have to win the fight. Learn to back off and respect your neighbours, not come full force firing at them like you all suggest, likes it's your god given right to be an a$$hole.

I have been there a number of times. But it is just a hop and a skip for me. Mostly when I was rodeoing. But once again it was close for me and they do have great bucking horses. But there is also great fishing, hunting too where else are you going to go shoot a moose. The scenery is absolutely out of this world. I have always found the people to be very nice. I haven't gone north in a few years because of the hassle crossing the border. The hassle isn't going into Canada it happens when you want to get back into the USA.
