I have ten acres that is weeds and needs to be replanted or sprayed.

Would a person be better to spray and then broadcast clover later or just say he!! with it and till up and plant or drill fescue in it.

Any other suggestions ? Had brome and orchard grass in it as well as clover. such a wet yr here that its just weeds now.

We do a couple of seasons of forage cereals to break the weed cycle before going back to pasture to ensure minimum competition to the timid grass seedlings.

I would burn it down with glyphosate. Then when it's good and truly dead I would use fire to clean it up, then no till in fescue and clover.

If I had the time I would fall plow, spring round up, summer round up, fall plow again, and spring plant something.

This is a good method.

Try to avoid the use of glyphosate, and use no-till.

Tillage will kill weeds, however it will also damage your soil structure, use up some organic material, take time and expense, but also bring up more weed seeds.
