    FOCUS - on 'Milk' Selection

Robert owning (the hip, good own) this topic as usual. I look at it this way. I don't care if a bull is +7 or +37 for milk as long as they breed back and bring in what I deem a quality or marketable calf. When I find the ones in my herd that do this, I study the bulls in their pedigree. More...

    SAV Pioneer

Gizmom, We will be using him for the first time this Fall. The heifer was the results of a flush we sold. They wanted to use Pioneer and he was a junior bull with no proof at the time. We've done alot of studying in him lately and I think you will be OK. krenwic

    bull appraisal

I would have guessed older than 10 mo. He looks good for his age. Those Ambush 28s are gonna get "big".

    Simple recessive genes - FCS

I don't know why it hasn't shown up yet on the AAA website, but Dr. Beever sent a confirmation e-mail yesterday. Those are all the details I know at this point.

    Simple recessive genes - FCS

Don't read too much into it. When you have a bunch of females to test, this is a no brainer. If he's free, you cut cartwheels (and it will have been more than worth putting up the straw). If he's a carrier, you go back and test.

    Simple recessive genes - FCS

Yes, I know the person who sent the sample. He shipped a straw to Dr. Beever's lab.

IMF and the "fat" you are referring to are not the same thing

    the question of "objective"

Aero, was just referring to the operation in NC and how the philosophy has changed over the years. That's all. krenwic

I Am Angus - we gotta work together!

This couldn't be further from the truth in the humid conditions of the South. Here high IMF = hard keep.

    the question of "objective"

I know one of the latter could argue with a corner post!

    the question of "objective"

I will second the thought of the second coming of Foxx, for the coolaid is being gulped at a toxic rate  . However, for the life of me, I can't let my one time fellow Carolinian (Aero) get by without touching on this one: buying animals from anyone means your breeding results are inferior...

    the question of "objective"

The jury is still out on whether they will be "functional" or not. And I doubt many would consider the offspring of Objective to be "moderate". They do grow like the numbers say they do, but are they the right "kind"?. I'm not buyin. krenwic

    Favorite OCC sired offspring . . .

We are pleased with the Emblazons and Missing Links. Sampling Paxton this year as well. Haven't used Prototype, but have heard some good reports. Don't really understand the shipping issue. Forty or more straws and shipping is free. You must live out in the boonies!! :lol2: krenwic
