You mentioned it So i have to say it. I'd go with a 7.3. old cheap reliable easy to maintain and fix. I only say this because I have two and love them both 7.3s have a way to my heart.

Your best bet if your not brand loyal pick the dealer with the best service. The end of the day there all junk when they break and there all better than others when there working properly. Just my two cents

When I bought my truck guy before me did something similar except he was a metal worker and made them outta stainless. Worked good for awhile rest of bed ended up rusting out anyways and just bought a new southern bed anyways. For how much those are I'd just consider a new bed

Few guys I know that have them Ford 6.2 gassers love them. I'm sure there's some flaws like anything else. I personally still have my heart set on the 6.7. that's also just the diesel guy that I am tho

Am dedicated to my Ford's but in my opinion any vehicle u by it's gonna break. I run a 01 7.3 love it will last me for awhile I hear really good reviews on the Ford 6.7s I think there a great motor. I'd recommend u buy one used delete the garbage off it and run it.

Run a new Holland 313 it's tough I put it threw it's paces. Can't say as it I'd recommend it tho.
