    He throws big calves 120-130. But, the cows are big 1800+ so it's all relative. Heifers at 24-26 months weigh 1400-1500 and have 90-100 calf. I have very few assisted calvings. http://www.Allen-farms.com

    I have weaned as early as 60 days without any problems. It would be nice if they were eating grain before weaning. Still I've pulled them and got them going. Steve

    I think the height give them lift on the load. The Chianina is not the superman to ox pulling as many believe imo. But, they have more life (snappy start) which is an advantage on heavy loads. It seems teams that are competitive have some Chianina in them. The Chianina have certainly...

    Just a hobby, we pull at about 35 competition a year all over New England. I keep around 50 head of fullblood Chianina there is a real demand for fullblood bull calves here.

    sidney411; They are 3yr. (young for oxen) wt. ~ 3000 pound team Largest load so far this year 8000 pounds. They should mature at around 6500 pound team and pull around 22,000 pounds hopfully. I believe the young team will be bigger at 2 mo 400 pound each. Steve

    susie, most of my bull calves go for oxen, They are very large as most of my cows run 1800-2000 pound range. I would'nt think they would be real profitable as fullbloods for beef. maybe as a cross. You will read here how they are real wild, Like any breed some are some are not. We handle...
