I buy 380lb heifers in the late winter and sell in the late fall. I want to put as much weight on them as possible. Have good pasture and feed 18% Purina pellets at .5% of body weight. Would adding the 30% block help at all or could it be a replacement of the Stocker/Grower?

Accidentally gave a cow a double dose of pour on ivermectrin. Any problem?

How often do you use pour on ivomectrin in between your spring and winter injectable?

I know there are many variables but generally speaking. I am buying 4x5’ rolls of hay this year which is different than previous years. How long will a roll last with a certain number of average weight adult cows. I know some of you have a very good idea on this.

I have a friend who bought enough thins in March for a truckload. Turned out to pasture and mineral. He will sell before the Fourth of July. He has contacted an auto buyer to look at them. If auto buyer buys the lot then they will not have to go through a sale. Will post here how he does.

Try Ultra Boss. If you have 50 in a pasture spray just a little on the back of approximately 15. See if your horn flies don’t disappear. If you have a pond where the cattle can get in water over half way up the Ultra Boss will not work well. If you give it a try let us know the results.

Those of you using Martins. It is killing horseflies? I really do not think the UltraBoss will. At least in my pasture. Good discussion.

Yes, I have had no luck at all with Ultra Boss and Horse Flys. Will kill a horn fly dead. Ok with biting flys on legs.

I have had tremendous success with Ultra Boss. Spray just a little bit on the cows back and no horn flies. Lasts about a week and a half. You don’t even have to treat every cow. Since this is a mineral discussion what does everyone think of Purina Wind and Rain?

The Draxxin is a terrific drug. Would you give it to any age cattle from a sale barn?

What vaccines and antibiotics to give four to five month heifers bought at the sale barn. Quite a few folks will give a dose of LA-200 to calves straight out of the sale barn. Is LA 200 really what these calves need? What vaccines do you give? Should be some interesting answers here.

Other than the color what are the differences between Red Angus and Black Angus?

I bought 15 375lb average weight heifers at several sales. I want to enhance weight gain. I am using the 14% Purina stocker Grower. Considering I have good grass how many lbs would you use of 14% for 5,240lb of stock as a supplement. Thank you very much.
