so went to the sale today and around here one of the tags on the animal of its a cow is the forst number how old and the second how long bred...for example 5/7 would mean 5 years old and 7 months bred..Well a few were x/however long they were bred and i was windering if the x stood for "no mouth"..Wondering if anyone knew

In our area the X would indicate a broken mouth (missing/worn out teeth) cow. So you are probably on the right track.
