I'm going to be taking my first vacation in about six years next week. We're going to see a few of my wife's family in Levelland Texas and we'll end up in Mcalaster Oklahoma and possibly southwest Missouri and or northern Arkansas. We have a full schedule so I won't have much time to meet anyone new but I'd sure like to be able to look around and think, "so and so is right over there".

When your in Mcalaster OK. I'll be about an hour east

I went to the mcalaster/Kiowa area two weeks ago. I figured I drove by you, but I was in a pretty big rush. Was gone from the house for 27 hours, 24 of them were spent driving.

If you have never seen the Llano Estacado (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈʝano estaˈkaðo], (meaning Palisaded Plain) Texas/local pronunciation: [lano estaˈkaðo], commonly known as the Staked Plain,[1][2] is a region in the Southwestern United States that encompasses parts of eastern New Mexico and northwestern Texas. One of the largest mesas or tablelands on the North American continent.

You will be on top of it.

Where in North Arkansas? I am in North Arkansas.
Don't know yet. We haven't got everything worked out yet but we need to as we're leaving tommorrow morning as soon as I get done breeding cows. We might not even make it out of Oklahoma. I honestly don't care where all we go as long as I get to see some new country that isn't in California.

Slow down and smell the rose's. CP, your not getting any younger, and there's no guarantee your going to get any older.

You will be getting farther away from me with every mile you travel. Just get on I-5 and turn North for about 900 miles (+/-).

Depends on your route to McAlester from Levelland. If it's through Sherman and Durant I'm south of Sherman 40 miles and I believe Iso is somewhere in the greater Durant area.

You will recognize Isom right off he is the midget wearing a pink cowboy hat driving a chartreuse
micro bus pulling a flowered one horse trailer with his stick horse Flicka in it.

I think he's dealing blackjack at that big casino in Durant now too. Has to stand in a chair to see over the table. :lol2:

I'm guessing I just got close to several of you in Texas. Marshall, Beaumont, Winnie, Bay City, El Campo, La Grange, Bastrop, Lakeway, Waco, Dallas, then 30 east to New Boston and back home.

I just looked at your location, and then a map. Been through there on 380 going to McKinney and then on to Anna a few times.
I wonder how frequently CT members are in close proximity without really thinking about it. Seems every time I travel, I'm in a rush to get there and get the job done, then I'm really ready to get back home. This time my darlin companion rode shotgun, so she was especially ready to get home and check on kids and critters. Especially after getting the random DHS check before we drove up on the ferry between Bolivar and Galveston. That is a waste and very stressful. After that, we had a hard time enjoying ourselves.
