What's Your Favorite TV Western Show

Help Support CattleToday:

6Mranch, yeah about the girlfriends, and if a woman ever got married or engaged to Ben Cartwright, that was a death sentence. Still, a great show. You have to suspend belief just a little to appreciate. :D

Of movies, the only one I like is the origianl "Monte Walsh". And it is no where as good as the book. The remake of it with selleck just plain sucks.

Mine have always been Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Rawhide.

One movie I really like is "The Rare Breed", with Jimmy Stewart Maureen Ohara, Brian Keith

I got to thinking about it, and when I was a kid I watched a lot of reruns of Wild Wild West, and I really liked it. I thought the lead guy was cute!

Same with Little Joe. All the girls thought he was cute!

Jay Silverheels or what Tonto supposedly means.

Gunsmoke was my favorite. Nobody was bigger, faster, smarter, or tougher than Matt Dillon. I wonder how many bullets he took during his years as Marshal of Dodge City?

Ooooh, oooh, in another lifetime I was in a fancy jewelry store in NYC to get a bracelet repaired...Robert Horton (Flint McCullough) came in and sat RIGHT NEXT TO ME to wait his turn...I was 18 and he was gorgeous! He had freckles, that's all I remember. (Had he asked, I'm sure I'd have gone west on a wagon train with him. He didn't :( ) That same year I saw Henry Fonda walking in the opposite direction on a Fifth Avenue sidewalk, wow, a very tall, very handsome man.

I remember Have Gun Will Travel was on 9:30 Friday nights, followed by Gunsmoke at 10. And Saturday mornings we had Sky King, My Friend Flicka, and some others.

Ahhh, the good old days....
