What is a good chemical to spray broomweed with this spring before it really gets going, that won't hurt the grass in the pasture. Would Grazon work?
TIA

Are you talking about broom sedge??? If so it means your soil is lacking in nutrients. Best way to rid the place of it is to get your PH up by adding lime. The broom sedge will then go away, won't be overnight, but it will go away.

Ignore this reply if you did not mean broom sedge, I've never heard of broomweed so I can't tell you what to do.

Grazon will work on broomweed. 2,4-D will also work. you'll see the best results of both if used when the broomweed is still young & in the growing stages.

this is similar to the broomweed we have, not sure if it's what he's asking about:

We call it broomweed. 2,4-D will kill it with as little as a pint and a half per acre, IF you spray early.......

Usually broomweed is an indicator that your soil needs lime

One of the better controls is mowing it low in late fall. It stores it's reserves in the foliage, so you are really straining it if you mow it late. Lime is the long-term fix.
