Help Support CattleToday:

I look for it to be a tough year. The trees are already budding out and its so dry here. If we don't get a substantial amount of rain here before the pecans leaf then the drought will feed on itself which will lead to another year of crispy grazing. I'm not looking forward to that and don't plan on stressing through another drought.

Yes. We have gone from a D4 to "none".

Now if the pastures would only change that fast!

I'm right in the middle of the exceptional drought area in Ga. I've never seen a winter where there wasn't a drop of water anywhere but I have now. The only good thing about it is you can drive heavy landscaping machinery anywhere and not only not bog up- you won't even get the tires wet. I hate to think what's going to happen with the turpentine beetles this year. Two weeks ago there was a 40% chance of rain several days in a row. Got 1/100 of an inch from that.
