Virginia Beef Expo

Reminder to Virginian's and cattlemen in surrounding states of the Virginia Beef Expo this Friday and Sat. There will be purebred sales for Simmental, Angus, Red Angus and Charolais on Friday, along with a commercial heifer sale on Sat. There is a pretty good trade show, of all the goodies that everyone wants but can't afford, and good food. Sale info for the sales can be found on the expo website. The simmental sale catalog can be view at the breeding cattle page under DP sales. Hope to see all the familliar faces and a bunch of new ones.

We were there on Friday, attendance and exhibitors both seemed light compared to years past. I heard the commercial heifer sale for Saturday was cancelled. Went to the red angus and hereford sales, females sold well but the bulls were cheap in my opinion.
