Hoping that I can find an answer to this question here. We want to plant a vine on our fences that will provide berries to birds in the fall and that is not toxic to cattle/sheep or that they will eat. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Chokos -Once you get a taste for them boiled they get better than potatoes with butter.
Cattle eat every part of them

Yeh probably not -they like a lot of water at times but in Quirindi which is dry and cold nights we used to empty the outhouse can into a hole 2 ft deep ,put the soil back ,plant a choko with a shoot started and stand back -bout 3 months later they needed some water after flowering to set and build the fruit then no more till they died off.

Where we are now we have to electric fence them off if we want any part of the vine left

Muscadine vines really cover a fence and you and the birds can eat the fruit. I don't know if cows like them or not. When they ripen here, it's hard to stay away from the vines. It makes some good homemade wine. It needs to sit for a couple of years to taste it's best, but the wait is worth it!
