Unwanted weed or grass?

Leased a new pasture last year and it has an abundance of this grass like plant that the cows will not eat. It lays over the other grass and chokes it out. It has a yellowish or light green appearance and has larger leaves than say brome. The neighbors do not know of anything that kills it, but they say the cows will eat it very early in the year. I will try to get a picture. Any ideas. I live in northeast nebraska.

jdman1952, I'm no good at identifying plants or weeds, but if you have a county extension agent out there, he or she will know what it is and how to handle it (take a sample to their office).
