I bought a little rifle for behind the seat in the pickup. It is a Rossi break action single shot in 223. Now the problem is that every place in the county that sells ammo has no 223. Big empty part of the shelve where 223 ammo is supposed to be stacked. Rifle with no ammo is not real useful.

I've got two single shot handirifles in 223. Great truck guns and more. Short light and accurate I grab one pretty often when headed to a deer stand. Good work and pasture guns. If headed to the city I swap out for the ar15.
When you find ammo buy all they'll let you. The big challenge here is finding ammo in something other than fmj.

I just recently completed a AR pistol in 300 blackout. If it would of known how convenient it was I would of had one years ago.

Fits easily over my head in the UTV gun rack or slides between the front seats on my truck.

Pickup is a standard cab bench seat. I am going to tie a soft case to the cab behind the seat with the barrel down a little and leave the case partially unzipped. I am not worried about being better armed when I go to the "city". The only city I go to is Baker City, population 10,000. Probably 90% conservative and 99% armed. If I remember correctly only one murder since 2000. So it is pretty darn save there. On the other hand Wiley Coyote may just be in trouble from this gun if I can find some ammo.

Here are some listed as I noticed a few companies have limits of one box.

Here are some good brass loads for 58 1/2 cents a round. The only problem it is for 1000 rounds. Shipping time within one week. I checked what shipping on this for me would be and it was $19.98 to my door which would not be bad IMO.

Everyone preparing for the Civil War.
Our local gun shop shelves are virtually empty of firearms as well.
I have the CVA version it has taken every pest around here.
I have plenty of ammo for it.
I went to it when 22 mag got in short supply and so expensive.

Somebody got a good deal.

My truck gun is .270 bolt action I keep
It full but only need 1 and I've got a .40 smith and Wesson In there to. I guess there is 3 in the truck if I'm in it cause I carry a .380 everywhere I go even to the hog pen

I love my 22mag, but the last time rim fire ammo got scarce I decided that I would not buy another rifle that I could not reload.

This is showing my age at one time Lee made a reload kit for the 22.

In today's world... you are correct I've got a very good friend that keeps his truck stocked like a swat team

This issue now is the ammo and gun companies are running skeleton crews. I have a friend that owns a gun shop/range, and their shelves are empty. They can't get anything. I think it's Glock that usually has 500-600 people per shift, 3 shifts/day. Right now they're operating with about 250 people, one shift/day. Ammo companies, same thing. And all lead now is coming from over seas, so they can't get enough lead to keep up.

Our last president shutdown the last lead plant in the country.

And this is exactly what his plan was, slow down (or cut off) the supply of ammo.

That's pretty cool! Not bad on price either.
