I've ridden in a boxcar..from Baytown to Liberty skipping school when I was a junior in highschool. They stink and hot as blazes. Used to jump on the train as it passed slowly behind the school coming off the Goose Creek trestle and ride to a nearby town in another county, get off, goof off in Liberty all day and catch another that afternoon going back to Baytown and be back at school in time to get our ride home as normal. Got caught when we walked around the corner and almost walked right into my Dad coming out of a downtown cafe....Not fun.

(may have been Dayton...been over 50 yrs now.)
