One of my cows seems to be having trouble eating. Been watching her for 3 days now. She eats hay ok but to watch het eat grain, it looks like it may hurt her to stick her tongue out. Drinking water fine. I put a little cracked corn in for her and she ate it right up. The other cows eat the grain ok, is she just being picky. I called the vet anyway, they have never had shot one that I know of. What do you all think? Thanks!!

Have you had the cow for a while and have you recently changed their grain mixture? We picked up a heifer a couple of weeks ago that had naver had a grain mixture like ours. It has a few pellets but mostly ground cotton seed and ground corn. She eats it by biting at it like a dog would do. The others all use their tongues and sweep it into their mouths. With whole corn she does fine because she can bite into it.

You know she does bite at it like a dog. The grain is some what different, from another mill. I still need to get them up to date on their shots I guess.
