Daughters show heifer had a problem and needed some antibiodics a couple weeks ago. State fair is in 2 weeks and her neck is swollen pretty good. Washed her done and used new needles for each shot, still got big swelling.

Been trying to rinse with cool water. What can be done so she might be able to be shown in the fair?

Have you tried rubbing the spot? Sometimes it helps break up the knot and it will go down faster.

rub the spot and use ice cold water, or put an ice pack on her neck.

Your best bet would do be to rinse the area 2-3 times a day with cold water. And, like Colorado2008 said, try rubbing the spot. If you combine those two things, it should help.

Best of Luck.

Best method ive found is what Daisy suggested. I Just put my calf in the stanchion and put an ice pack on his neck for 20 mins 4 times a day, then just rub the spot. It went down within a couple of days.
