Surprise Me

Help Support CattleToday:

I married Miss 4h Sweetheart of 1971 of our local high school. (still married to her)
I went to a Kenny Rogers concert when he was listed as Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and played good music. (rock and roll)
I grew up with a couple of the guys that were the original members of Exile.
My first car was a 1970 Ford Maverick. Top that one.

I think this just make me old. Jeez I've lived a boring life. :cry2:

When I was a teenager I worked summers as a waitress. One raining cats and dogs type of day in came several bikers--several BIG bikers. They were soaked from the toes up! It was a very quiet day with no other customers, so when they all sat down, getting the chairs equally soaked the owner who happened to be there came up with a brilliant idea. She told them to go into the washroom, take off their wet things, give them to her and she would get them dry. Every one of those BIG bikers did exactly as they were told. I began to wonder if she had lost her mind. She brought out an armful of long white aprons-the kind which had a bib attached. A few minutes later out came these burly men all wearing one with the ties wrapped around them. The owner put their clothes into the ovens to dry out. There they sat, dressed in white, drinking hot coffee and ordering everything on the menu. It is amazing the whole time another customer never came in. If any had I think they soon would have left--not just seeing the bikers but wondering what on earth that smell from the kitchen was! :D Once all were full and clothes dried, they roared off--my tips were great that day by the way!! :) To this day I can't see a biker without wondering how he would look in an apron!!!

Let's hear it for the Pecan Queens ;-)

I showed an Australian Governor-General how to find porn and how to make bombs on the internet ;-)

The GG is the Official representative of the Queen, the Australian Head of State, who can sack our Prime Minister. I once had a job as IT Manager at Government House back in the 90's and set up the http://gg.gov.au/ website. The GG was to make a speech to a WWW3 Conference in Brisbane that year and had heard about the things you could find online. Before he wrote his speech, he wanted to connect to the net to form his own opinions, so I set up a computer for him and taught him to surf the net. He used to be a High Court Judge before he got the GG gig, and has since retired. A great bloke, and one of the greatest living Australians imho.

I made All State Band once. First kid from my region to do so.

Oh alright, I was senior class homecoming representative. Our senior trip was to Washington DC and our class picture was taken on the whitehouse steps with our rep, Gerald Ford, long before he was to become president.
I was on our county 4H horse judging team and we won the state competition in 19something. ;-)

When I was 9-10 I won the state junior scholastic award for art. That was the last artsy fartsy thing I ever did.

Bob Barker called our house one time. I didn't believe him. I had my mom take the phone. It was him, alright.
I'd be pretty careful about letting Ma get on the line with Ol' Bob Barker. This may need to be looked into a lil' bit more, was your Ma home last night? They say Ol' Bob still has a thing for Wimmens.

Judging from their age and condition, I would say that even if Mom and Bob were together last night, there isn't enough power in our modern medical arsenal to have made anything possible.

I produced records in Nashville in the 80's till I got tired of seeing people being ripped off.

And when I say ripped off, I mean ripped off. As in Grandma losing the homeplace cause some shyster told little Susie she could be a star.
