We have a fall calving operation. Having to use milo stalks as a roughage source in addition to unfertilized hay to get by this winter. 150 cows
Milo stalks tested 4% protein, 52 TDN. How would you effectively supplement? Hay guy says liquid feed. Co-op is trying to sale low protein forage extender at 10-15 pounds/day and my feed guy says a 60:40 corn distillers mix around 6 pounds a day.
Have looked at the high protein liquid feeds and mix 30, but not sure anything is going to perfectly fill the nutrition gap....
