I know I am probably opening a can of worms, but here it goes. What is the longest lasting brand steel stock trailer? Looking for 20'-24'. I'm in nw Missouri, so rust is the big deal. I've looked at some and the paint and welds look horrible.
I have a 2002 Wilson. I pretty sure I could get what I paid for it.I shopped before I bought my aluminum trailer. 20 year old used ones were almost the same price as new. I bought a new 20 foot Wilson in 2013. It has been a great trailer.
I thought about you having to be on call last week when they were issuing no burn warnings around here.Been on call for fires so haven't traveled in 2 weeks. Maybe back at it this week. Going to be rainy.
Does the company you drive for also make trailers for Hillbilly? One sold at auction here this past weekend and I was told it came from the factory in Sneedville. I assumed it was some sort of a trade they took in.An old man in Mississippi told me recently that if you are buying an aluminum trailer for gas mileage you didn't have a good aluminum. The difference in how they are made shows up with lots of use. A light trailer shows its light if you haul a lot.
Only Kiefer now but not sure what the previous owner built. Current owners took over in December 2015.Does the company you drive for also make trailers for Hillbilly? That is what I thought, supposedly they had three used ones here at an auction here on Saturday. Only one was Aluminum and it was a 14ft Hillbilly brand. It did not bring well and was not sold.Google says Hillbilly Trailers are built in Salem Arkansas.
