Help Support CattleToday:

Guess you can read for yourself. Also doesn't include tariffs.*

FY 2021$3.86 (estimated)
FY 2020$3.71 trillion (estimated)
FY 2019$3.46 trillion (actual)
FY 2018$3.33 trillion
FY 2017$3.32 trillion
FY 2016$3.27 trillion
FY 2015$3.25 trillion
FY 2014$3.02 trillion
FY 2013$2.77 trillion
FY 2012$2.45 trillion
FY 2011$2.30 trillion
FY 2010$2.16 trillion
FY 2009$2.10 trillion
FY 2008$2.52 trillion
You are leaving out the fact that it also increased the annual deficit to over One Trillion Dollars. I don't see much benefit.

And what is the exact purpose of the stimulus bill????
Read further in the bill and see whats in the stack. All congress got a raise, bailed out airlines, giant corporations, etc. How does $600 cover not working for 9 months? How about we all, as Americans, demand congress doesn't get paid until we open back up as a country. Probably wouldn't hurt them much. They don't have to spend any of that paycheck. We pay the rent for them. We pay for travel. We pay for everything they do. They continued to get the paycheck since this started, and voted themselves a raise, and tell us we can't work...... where does the government work for us? Why are they all millionaires? Things NEED to get fixed. We are all in the same boat as farmer and ranchers. We need to band together. WE can change the way things work, but have to do it together.

The deficit should be compared to the country's ability to pay it back. That ability is measured by the deficit divided by gross domestic product (GDP). The deficit-to-GDP ratio set a record of 26.9% in 1943 as the country geared up for World War II.6 The deficit then was only $55 billion, much lower than the record deficit of $3.7 trillion predicted for 2020. But the deficit-to-GDP ratio is much lower now at 17.9% since GDP is much higher than it was in 1943.7

Prior to the pandemic spending, the projected 2020 deficit was going to be less than the 2009 deficit, and a lower % GDP.

Also just an fyi, but if you're not happy with spending, then complain to the house. Since all spending bills originate from the house.
And who might be in control of the the house currently, and also back in 2009?

Now the stimulus package is done, if you really want to call it a stimulus, I wonder what's going to happen in the weeks, months ahead with the new strain of Covid being seen in the UK. This country can't afford to close business down anymore or there won't be anything to came back to. Let's hope calmer heads will prevail, but I guess time will tell.
Not to worry C-Ranch, Hiden' Biden is on the case.

It was shown that gov't debt isn't what precipitates recessions, it's consumer debt and earning/debt ratio
Back in 1943 there were far more people with no debt at all, and those that did have debt had a better earning to debt ratio..
Look at the high interest rate times of the 1980's (20%!!!) and the recession that caused... but in 2008, even with low interest rates people were paying a greater portion of their disposable income toward debt and mortgages, I don't imagine the last 12 years that's improved that at all.
This is an australian site, but the fundamentals and the analysis applies everywhere

If the economy was actually healthy, we could afford to have interest rates that stifle inflation

Gentlemen:
It should never be considered an insult to agree or reference any statement that one says or admits about themselves.
Anyone who would attempt such an act places themselves in the position of being tagged as a fool or a liar or both.
There is an old saying, "You cannot undo a do". We all live with our various defects or inadequacies if you will, but it hardly behooves us
to flaunt them to the world and not expect the repercussions from such foolishness. The only way known to a man who makes such
outlandish statements is to separate himself from the circle to whom the statement(s) were made and seek redemption by never uttering
those words again. Goodbye sstterry and God Speed LVR

You really shouldn't assume anything at all, being a computer cowboy like yourself doesn't qualify for anything, go back to drinking and driving drunk, it definitely shows on here.

Like I said previously, attempts at adolescent insults on an internet cattle forum are unbecoming. Particularly when they add nothing but name-calling. It shows no substance behind your argument.
I think ssterry's comment about driving drunk was just an analogy and not speaking literally of himself....thats the way i took it.

They originate there, but they are always amended by the Senate.

That is a mote point, because if the house so concerned about spending, they won't pass bills that increase it, or add on to the current budget.
Also the House must be in agreement with any amendments from the Senate.

Messages and Amendments Between the Houses

Bills Originating in the House

If a bill or resolution originates in the House, it follows the same steps as set forth above, except in reverse, i.e., a House committee considers it first; it is passed by the House; it is messaged to the Senate and referred to a Senate committee; the committee reports it to the Senate and it is then acted on by that body. If amended, it is returned to the House for its concurrence in the Senate amendments.

So if you would like to decrease spending in this country, it would be best to clean the House out first, and work up from there.

I did some esearch and have to say what's really in the stimulus for Americans.

The Federal Reserve was disappointed to find the majority of the 1st round
of direct payments was used to pay down debt or put into savings accounts.

I was happy to see the majority of people behave like responsible adults.

1st direct pay stimulus check $1200 capped at $3900 for families of 5.
2nd survival check $600 capped at $3000
With payment system now in place the 2nd round of payments is expected to
be smoother and faster than the first, beginning in 7-10 days and completed
by January 22.

Talk of a 3rd direct payment is coming for May/June 2021
Congress has learned it is easier to ignore fiscal responsibility as long as they
throw the masses a bone and all they have to do is have the Federal Reserve fire up the printing presses, repayment be damned.

Over 5500 pages in this stimulus package. What else can we find.

The house also included 25 million for themselves.

$25,000,000 ÷ 435 house members

= over $57,000 each.....

We are worth only $600 each?
Read all the foreign aide in the package as well .
That is stimulus for elected leaders returned in lobby dollars.
Six thousand pages of pork . Just got to pass the bill to find how much Vaseline we need.
Everyone of them is a traitor IMO.

"Foreign Aid" is a code word for "kickbacks." It is estimated that 50% or more of "foreign aid" actually comes back as laundered money, often through Swiss Banks, to the congress criminals who passed the bills. It has been this way for decades. It got its start with Byrd from W. VA way back in the 60's. He got more US highway money into W. VA than any other state. Most of those Interstates went nowhere and, by the time they were built, they were very nice two-lane roads. Byrd and his family got rich off these "contracts."

WVA road construction never stops and it is never more than cones set out 25 miles at a time.

The unemployment list needs to grow by 535 ASAP..

Not a chance of stopping it now.
Washington insiders headed to the WH we will be robbed blind as a nation.
Any bets on when we send troops in somewhere to die for more lobby dollars.
Just print more dollars making them worth less.
We also need to make illegal for a lawyer to be a politician, we might actually get common sense laws and budgets.

If this Covid was as bad the government says it is, seems to me we wouldn't have left over money to ship around the world. Every penny would be needed at home.
Government wants to give Medicare to illegals and supposedly we can't take care of our own in this "pandemic ".
Lot of double speak going on.
