I've gun it a Priefert SO1. My larger cows and bull won't fit. The chute is too narrow. What chute do yall recommend?

You can adjust the width . Got it closed down ?
We can work everything from newborn calves to goats and sheep in our Arrowquip. Yep. We use it for our small herd of goats and sheep also. I've even ran hogs through it to get a weight on them. Obviously the head gate doesn't work with hogs but it does get narrow enough to prevent them from turning around. I've worked some 2500 pound cows also. Best chute investment we've ever made.

My preifert SO4 has ran everything from day old calves to 2200lb bulls. The bulls have to squeeze thru but they do it. If an animal won't fit thru the chute then it's too big for my operation.

A hydraulic ArrowQuip is on the wish list for the home farm then just the Priefert for the traveling farms.

Same here. If they can't fit through an SO4 I have no use for them.

We've got a 29 year old Pearson that takes anything we throw at it. Did have to patch a few spots in the floor several years back. We bought it used probably 12-14 years ago, I'd buy another one.

The Arrowquips are nice but they make so many different models. I've seen some that get really loose from hard use. I'm guessing they have a light, medium, heavy, and extreme model maybe?

Before you buy an Arrowquip be sure to ask how many head their friction system is good for. They told a friend of mine it was only good for like 300 hd. They started out real popular but are losing steam around here due to slipping, especially with rowdy cattle.
We recently bought one and they are phasing out the friction system, has a locking mechanism now. We'll see how we like it ( or don't) later on this year.

There was a time we had nothing but a medina hinge. Any squeeze chute was awesome.

When you're walking, you don't complain about catching a ride in a Ford/Chevy/Dodge.

I've worked with a vet many times that has a custom hydraulic unit he designed that's the best I have ever seen. I've been places that didn't even have a medina hinge.

The first time I saw a Silencer squeeze chute was at an ag show in Spokane. I got to have this chute. Then the salesman told me the price. A great chute I can't afford. After that I saw and even operated a few at sale yards and feedlots. B had an old beat to death hydraulic chute. It was held together with baling wire and bubble gum. About a year ago he bought a new Silencer. It is one very fine chute. But unfortunately it is now twice the price that it was when I first saw one. One day I might win the lottery for multi millions of dollars. If that happens I will have a Silencer chute delivered.

I visited a ranch last fall in Montana that had a squeeze chute made by Goldridge Industries in Alberta Canada. They are a Hutterite owned company that make a replica of a Silencer chute. There was very little difference. I believe the ranch owner said he paid $12k for it. Photo is off there FB page.IMG_3208.jpeg
