We can work everything from newborn calves to goats and sheep in our Arrowquip. Yep. We use it for our small herd of goats and sheep also. I've even ran hogs through it to get a weight on them. Obviously the head gate doesn't work with hogs but it does get narrow enough to prevent them from turning around. I've worked some 2500 pound cows also. Best chute investment we've ever made. You can adjust the width . Got it closed down ?
What breed are you running? I've seen some 2,200lb angus cows and they're huge.I've worked some 2500 pound cows also
Black Angus. They were extremely obese at the time. Bought them from a neighbors backyard and put them on Jenny Craig. Made good money on them when they were in better shape and bred back. What breed are you running? I've seen some 2,200lb angus cows and they're huge.
Same here. If they can't fit through an SO4 I have no use for them.My preifert SO4 has ran everything from day old calves to 2200lb bulls. The bulls have to squeeze thru but they do it. If an animal won't fit thru the chute then it's too big for my operation.
A hydraulic ArrowQuip is on the wish list for the home farm then just the Priefert for the traveling farms.
I have the PriefertSO4. For the money, it's okay. Everything we have fits through it. I don't like that it only squeezes from one side. Arrowquip is really nice but for twice the money.I've gun it a Priefert SO1. My larger cows and bull won't fit. The chute is too narrow. What chute do yall recommend?

We recently bought one and they are phasing out the friction system, has a locking mechanism now. We'll see how we like it ( or don't) later on this year. Before you buy an Arrowquip be sure to ask how many head their friction system is good for. They told a friend of mine it was only good for like 300 hd. They started out real popular but are losing steam around here due to slipping, especially with rowdy cattle.
