Is anyone running a sprayer with a hydraulic pump? We bought a new sprayer last year and it didn't come in until the end of spraying season so we never used it. It has a hydraulic pump instead of a PTO style and the salesman told me to be sure and use a "float" remote or it would damage the pump. Our tractor has a remote with a self centering detent and I've used it to run hydraulic motors but unsure about the float part. We do have a few skid steer attachments that have a check valve between the lines to protect the motor when flow stops.

I've ran a sprayer with a hydraulic pump a lot.
You can run your hydraulics like normal and then move the lever to float so the motor can "coast" to a stop or you can hold the lever in place while you shut the tractor off. The motor will be able to coast to a stop.
