Great looking calves should be proud of them I heard prices are down hear in Nova Scotia good luck. Thanks Dean :D

Prices are scary here. These are slated to go next week, but we are having a hard time deciding for sure. It is very tempting to hold them for another month, and hope that prices go up if trade resumes with the USA on the 19th of Nov. But if that gets stopped, prices could go down even more :(

Anyone got a crystal ball........

Excellent choice, rand.

All good lookers, but I think you picked the winner.

Thanks, I think he is a pretty classy calf. His color helps make the decision a bit easier too, as he would get docked at the sale barn for it..... ;-)

Some very nice calves and weight gains.

May I ask what beed bull(s) you run?

What are most of the momma cows?

The cow herd is mainly Angus(red and black), Hereford and Shorthorn, or crosses between them. We are running Black Angus, Hereford and Shorthorn for bulls, and one Angus/Simmental bull which was a bit of an accident, or unplanned anyways.

Those are quality calves, Randi, I like the solid red heifer

Thanks, SEC. She is a good heifer, but man, is she fat. The cow is fat too. And that is just off grass. I would like to keep her, but I am wondering how her milking ability will be affected by how fat she is. She looks like she is bagging up(that is how fat she is).

If she is the extreme of the herd, then she should be shipped. Middle of the road all they way, you never hit the ditch!
