Should I buy ?

Help Support CattleToday:

If he is a professional buyer he should be able to put you a seat of cows together that are uniform. What is pictured is just trader cows, cheap cows picked up and penned together. Nothing wrong with it, I've pieced a set or two together when I had some money and extra hay to get rid of. But if you want some cows for long term you need to find a set of young, one brand, reputation cows.

Deal in tickets not BS, if they won't show you the tickets from buying the cattle walk.

Careful painting with such a broad brush there 5S...
I get more painted that way :pop:

:lol2: I have no doubts you do. Not everyone wants paint on the floor and trim work.

All i am saying is not EVERYONE is anti cattle traders. There are a few guys on here i would trust without reservation to buy cattle on my behalf. Some folks value the service they provide. Some folks would rather do it themselves. Both are fine.

You know better than that. You sell something based on what it's worth today. And those cattle centered in the pics 8 months bred are worth that today.
You jumped the gun and got caught talking out your azz. Be a big boy and admit it... ;-)

Jumped gun on what ?? How else do traders make money buy cheap sell high. I stand by my comments and I don't trust 90% of them. They cater to folks that don't have experience.

Oh, M-5. Bought some cows from FL last week. Too cheap. Wanna buy some back.
No one buys cattle from a cattle trader Kenny. Makes you wonder where they put all the cows that they buy. Hard to beat a cow calf operation for enjoyment, but the money is in cattle trading.

look like young heavy bred cows to me . First pic of ten should be a good deal . i see things way different , guy provides a service . he has plenty of risk and must price that in to be successful over time . some people are anti trader, dealer, reseller and those are the ones I dont waste my time on anymore . They cant comprehend the overhead and risk that goes into doing business

I rarely make over 10%. But if i can do several a month all with the same money it works pretty good.
The money is flipping the culls for more than you have in them. Anyone should be able to sell a good trader cow and make money. Some folks are too stupid or stubborn to stop bidding, I see this at every sale. Done it a few times myself. :dunce:

On the trader thing, I respect someone who has the initiative and knowledge to do it, as long as they offer complete disclosure on issues of the cattle. When you go to withholding information about cattle you are selling, on a one on one transaction, then I consider that unethical. And that is what is causing the anti trader mentality. And yes, before some of you start, a guy can buy them or not, but its still unethical.

From the buyer side, I'm not trying to pay more for cattle than I already am, and I don't want to have to pick through and try to find out why they are at the sale to begin with. If it's not a special sale of hfrs, or the auctioneer doesn't say prior to selling, "complete dispersal", then I'm not interested.
