Selling Sex....er....Bull Semen at Denver

Help Support CattleToday:

They'll likely get themselves sued if Ms Anderson finds out they're using her image. She's a dyed in the wool PETA person, ignoring, of course, that breast implants are tested on animals, as was the surgery.

They'll likely get themselves sued

That reminds me of NWSS quite a few years ago. There was an Angus bull named "Marriott" and the people from the hotel came to see it, they thought their company owned him!

That add has everthing to do with sex and women and not much about AI. I am sure it gets the attention of the male cattle owner as it is intended to do. It is extremely disgusting and degrading to women.

I don't see that too many 'females' have responded to this, so I'll add my 2 cents. I see nothing wrong with it and don't feel that it is degrading to women. Its just a sale tactic, thats about all there is to it. I actually think that its kinda funny! :D

Hey I would never write that. In my opinion I think it makes those women look pretty good. But what I wrote was

You got it all wrong. Take a closer look. Isn't that a bull looking up?

Yeah like prostitutes.

If we have to use sex to sell our cattle, then we need new cattle. Showing cattle is family oriented. That's not something that I want all the members of my family to see. It's pathetic. :x

Women have been useing sex as advert. sents adam and eve.
Just look at the clothes you wear. If it jeans bet they are skin tight . Look at the clothes they let there kids wear to school.

Take a look at the make up. If you were not selling sex you would not wear it.

Now some company uses it, It all of a suden is discusting.

What you think you have an exclusive.

Although I am not a fan of this type of tactic there is another way to look at it.

What's different about that then a chick who is wearing a shirt that exposes part of her stomach. How about cleavage. How about her ass hanging out of the back of her pants with her T bar clearly visible.

People don't wear that because it's in style, they wear it because they want to be looked at, cause some attention. If they didn't want to cause attn then you could wear regular clothes and still be in style. As the old saying goes..."you've got it, flaunt it." That's exactly what happens.

The people that designed this ad. have my applause.
Evey response on here clearly tells me one thing, They got your attention. That is what marketing is all about. Before they can get you to read their info. they first must get your attention.
I bet they did that better than any other advert. at that show. They did it so well that the small percentage that were offended would be meaningles.

If you look carefully and closely to the picture you can see the first owner listed. I know him personally and after I think about it, it doesn't suprise me one bit that he did that. Takes me back a little on him, but with that guy, he would do anything to try and persuade more interest on his bulls.

novatech, actually, while I wouldn't call him the low end of the Shorthorns, I was more impressed with a couple other Shorthorn bulls. Call me crazy but I look at bulls based on their phenotype, not how much clevage their owner shows on the banner.

I'm of the opinion that the bull speaks for himself.

I bet they did that better than any other advert. at that show.
I heard people talk about a lot of bulls. The only thing I heard about that bull was people laughing at the ad. While the muscle tone and structure of the other bulls stuck in people's minds, they just remembered the "tits bull".

Point is they looked.
You Looked
Nobody forgot
And if you liked that bull you wouldn't forget that either.
So I guess you proved my point without even knowing it.
At my age I could care less, but It difinately would have caught my attention.

Ummm, I looked at 54 different bulls and 52 of them didn't feel the need to put up scantily clad women to get my attention. I heard numerous people talking about bulls like Total Solution, Wave Burner, Great White, and Monopoly. Those bulls got attention because they were good bulls.

You get attention by just being in the display bulls.

You are stretching your logic pretty thin in an attempt to justify showing soft core porn to people who came to see bulls.

People might as well have strippers out there if all that matters is getting attention from horny men so they'll remember the bull.

Now you dont have to get nasty. Like I said I am way past the age of being h----. But It did get my attention. As it did yours.

I do respect your opinion even if you are wrong. Thank you for shareing it with me. Oh; next time you put on that make up and that tight pair of jeans, think about what your selling.

I'm a 27 year old guy.

BTW, your "think about what you are selling" applies to prostitutes, not women. However, that kind of knuckle dragging attitude makes it easier to understand why you have no problem with those displays.

You are continuing to try to justify showing soft core porn to sell bull semen. Sorry, but I'm not prepared to write off the industry so fast.

How many of those "other" bulls have had their add posted here to talk about. Heck I dont even use shorthorn semen and I saw this one.
Good ads get you talking, great ad gets people mad.
This is a great ad.

PS i like the pic to the right....

Third Row I totally agree with you.

PS-The reason I'm putting on tight jeans is because Santa Claus gave me 10 pounds for Christmas.

The ad itself wouldn't get me to buy a bull or semen but it was eye catching if nothing else. I don't think that makes me a knuckle dragger. I just don't see why the advertisers felt it was necessary to use those kind of pictures in light of the "wholesome" and "clean cut" image the cattle business has enjoyed, in general. How does this ad help with our kids in FFA? I don't get it.

Now somebody finally maks a good point. I Don.t think it is good for youngsters either. But one also has to remember this type of advert. is on TV, billbords, and almost everywhere you look. This type of dress is becomeing common place. And I certainly don,t beleave that ad was directed for FFA kids.

Angus/Brangus, your attitude isn't what I was talking about. I was talking about the guy who is trying to claim every woman who fixes herself up is a prostitute.

When you turn your back on this kind of stuff or try to justify it, all it does it make somebody try to figure out a way out do them next year.

Most of the FFA "kids" I know in high school are boys and yes it would get their attention.

But thats not news, and its not hard to get a teenage boys attention if you know how? But I didnt know that was news.

Ok, this is your teenage girls opinion. I am 18 years old so here goes. First this sends the wrong message to the boys that plan on living on a farm to support themselves, do you really think that women who look like that want to be baleing hay, cleaning out pens, washing nasty calves, or even getting, o my, snot on them, NO!!!! Why can't we appreciate the women who are out there in the fields, and in the pastures, and who like it there. I have my own herd of cattle, that guess what I PAYED FOR! And no matter how good the cattle are, if the owner created a display like that I would never buy anything from them for a moral and ethical reason. Peer preasure is bad enough these days with the wrong message about women being spred through the media. Why can't the show stock industry create a positive outlook on women. Some of the best showmen out there are actually showwomen. I find that yes this ad got attention, but it was the wrong kind. The ad itself overshadowed the bull, which is negative advertisment. So there is my opinion.

P.S. about the tight jeans, you try finding a pair of jeans that is not lowcut or tight and let me know if you do.

Red; I think you are wrong about the guy,s. That message is built into their system, if they have all the right hormones, I,m sure that the first women that showed her ankle was rediculed.
And I,m sure the guys went nuts about it.

As far as the ad itself, Go to the head of the class. Thats the only decent arguement I have heard yet, and what's more you are probably right.

As far as those jeans, as much as I hate to agree, Angus is right, and thats a first.
