Selling Freezer Beef

What really takes the cake is when someone tries to get you to lower your price. "It doesn't cost that much at the store."
It isn't only selling beef. I have people who ask about buying eggs and when I tell them the price ($2/doz) I get told that they can buy them for $1.99 at the store. GRRRR.......
 
Lots of good input here, Thanks. Sounds to me like dealing with the general public has been the problem with most of you and I can completely understand that.
 
We were selling freezer beef until this year. Had some problems with a "gamey" aftertaste in the last 3 steers so I'm trying a new butcher.
Last 2 I butchered weighed 1075 and 1130. Not thrillled with my costs either at this point.

Anyway, I'm out until I get something consistent going.
