Six weights at a local auction here (Athens, Tennessee) just brought $1.27 yesterday. Same heifers only brought $1.07. I think I may keep all of my heifers as replacements.

Heifers are selling a little better here, but man at that price is sure hold on to them just because! It's crazy what replacements, bred heifers and young pairs are selling for right now.

I'm going to go-to a sale tomorrow just to look at the cattle and see what they sell for. But also see how they sell. Are they old boner cows or are they nice 4-5yr old cows.

Just make sure you don't let the deal of the day pass you by. ;-)

I have 2 heifers i should have got out of here early in the spring. One is a dud, the other is tolerable, just don't need her. But dang man, absolutely giving them away right now. Guess i will take the turd and see what i can bring home.

You go to greeneville when you go?

I take mine to Greenville, but for the life of me, I can't find their most recent reports since the USDA switched to that new "mars" system. If anyone can point me to it I would love to bookmark it.

For me it's the hardest thing.... Keep her or them and see in 30,60,90 days blah blah. Almost Everytime I get it stuck to me for holding on so long. I've gotten way better at culling opens, short bread and dinks. I have to say my place runs better and looks better when I force myself to listen to myself lol.

Cattle Market Mobille then select Tennessee, then Greenville, then USDA report. I don't like the PDF version either.

Thank you, Kenny. Tennessee Tuxedo already pointed this out to me privately. The funny thing is, I already had it on my phone but had forgotten about it.
It seems that prices were better Saturday in Greenville than in Athens on Wednesday.

I much prefer this format, as it is what I've gotten used to looking at over the last couple decades.
