Rejected calf

Two cows and a heifer calved yesterday. The heifer (now cow) will not take the calf. Put her in a head gate and let the calf get colostrums. Brought her to the house and she's getting crated twice a day now. She's a cull for sure.

I will give a heifer another chance if she is an outstanding heifer. With their first calf and all, it's a stressfull time. I'd had first calvers screw everything up, and then for their second calf - they were pros.

She is now taking the calf. What a pain these gals can be. If one of my nurse cows was wet, I would not have gone through this effort.
