.....but we force feed em. We have a few Pflueger reels for boring fishing, and no complaints.
But can you sling a HulaPopper out there with a bow?? Kind of an abrupt presentation ain't it?

(Pflueger has made some really great baits and reels thru the decades..haven't tried one lately tho)

The Zebco 33 has been pretty much the standard for closed face reels for years.

For the money and the job they do you can't beat them....especially for kids.
 
They make some good quality spincast reels. There are several out there that will run you $50-$75, or more. But a good ol Zebco 33 makes the most sense for occasional pond fishing.
